About

Forever Places is a weekly newsletter of exactly 100 words about how people remember people: the places we set aside, the rituals we keep, the objects we hold on to, and the people who tend all of it.

Each Sunday brings one story, and it is always one of four kinds: a Person, a Place, a Story or a Thing. A stonecutter. A small cemetery. A custom with a long history. A gravestone symbol, an urn, a keepsake in a drawer.

We write the way a small history magazine would: warm, curious and careful. Sometimes a story is surprising, even funny. It is never flippant about death or grief.
